The Girls Behind Dilly Dahl Deli
With how everything changed in 2020, we were happy to add two additional helpers to the Dilly Dahl family - Miss Monika and Miss Kele!
Both girls come from hospitality backgrounds and their experience and creativity as we continue to provide budget-friendly and tasty menus to private events as well as public functions has been very useful! :-)
My name is Amy Van Meter; I’ve been in the hospitality industry since 2006.
The longer I continued working in the hospitality industry, with the majority of my experience bartending, the deeper my passion grew of starting my own business.
After taking some online classes in hospitality management and getting some business advice through the Small Business Association, I decided to try it on my own and opened Dilly Dahl Deli in Aug. 2017, serving lunches to employees at the Lands' End building in Stevens Point. We expanded since then and now had multiple lunch locations as well as catering public and private events.
2020 obviously came and went and with that, we continue to evolve and grow as both public functions and private events begin again.
My ultimate goal is to obtain a food wagon so we can get to events easier and I can expand my public events menu. :-)

My name is Rita Mitchell; when I was younger, I helped with my family's food wagon that followed an auction company, and it definitely inspired my love of the food industry.
Once I was in college, I started working at Golden Corral as a waitress; it wasn't too long before I was a manager! I stayed with them for four years.
I worked for a while at a fine dining establishment, The Vintage House.
I've been helping out here with Dilly Dahl Deli since 2019!
Food is a great passion of mine, and I'm so glad I get to do something I love!

And why is it called Dilly Dahl Deli? I named it after our cats,
Miss Dahlia and Mr. (Dill) Pickles. :-)
My boyfriend, Peter, designed the cute logo.
